Presentations to Date

Below is a chronology of the more than 400 presentations made since May 2000. If you or your group would like to see a presentation describing vision42’s potential for 42nd Street and the City, including the key findings of our economic, traffic, cost, and construction phasing consultants, please send an e-mail to info@vision42.org.

Reactions to the plan at the many presentations made to date have been primarily positive, including those from long-standing skeptics of light rail and pedestrian streets. Issues of traffic diversion and the delivery of goods and refuse removal have been satisfactorily addressed by vision42’s traffic consultant, Sam Schwartz Engineering; and the economic analysis by Urbanomics and cost estimate by Halcrow, LLC, show a highly favorable cost/benefit ratio for the plan, with enormous benefits accruing to the City.
